Amanda Stottlemyer RDH, MS, SADHA Advisor BridgeValley CTC (WVDHA President) Amanda received an AS degree in Dental Hygiene from West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) in 1999. Amanda practiced dental hygiene in private practice for a about 10 years, 6 of those years were spent working in a periodontal practice. While working in private practice, Amanda attained a BS in dental hygiene from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2008. After the completion of her BS degree she was able to achieve a long-term career goal as a dental hygiene educator at her alma mater, WVU Tech which is now called BridgeValley Community and Technical College. She recently completed her MS degree in Adult and Technical Education from Marshall University Graduate College. Amanda is the SADHA advisor for the dental hygiene students at BridgeValley and is committed to improving the oral health of the public, advancing the art and science of dental hygiene, and promoting the highest standards of quality care in dental hygiene.
Amanda was one of 40 RDHs from across the country selected to attend the ADHA UYP Leadership workshop in Chicago in November 2014. She was featured on the cover of RDH Magazine February 2015.

Sharon Stemple Hinchman, RDH, MSDH, (WVDHA Treasurer, Membership Chairman, Website Development Co-Chair & Facebook Administrator) is a graduate West Virginia University School of Dentistry, Division of Dental Hygiene with a Master of Science in Dental Hygiene. While a graduate student at WVU, she enjoyed working as a clinical instructor with junior and senior dental hygiene students. She was selected as a Dentsply/ADHA Graduate Dental Hygiene Research Program representative to the ADHA Center for Lifelong Learning (CLL) at Annual Session in Phoenix, June 2012. Her poster presentation was based on her research thesis.
The peer reviewed Journal of Dental Hygiene of the American Dental Hygienists’Association published her research article “Ultrasonic Instrumentation Instruction in Dental Hygiene Programs in the United States in the April 2016 issue, which has since been used as a citation in two Canadian research articles.
Sharon was tapped to serve as Alternate Delegate to the ADHA Annual Session in Boston in June 2013 & 2014. In preparation for the Annual Session she attended the District III workshop held in Winchester, VA. District III includes, WV, VA, DE, MD and Washington, D. C. She volunteered as a Page during the ADHA House of Delegates. During the 2016 ADHA CLL and Annual Session, she participated in the inaugural 5k IOH Walk/Run fundraising event.
In 2012, she was selected as one of 40 RDHs from across the country to receive a scholarship to participate in ADHA’s Unleashing Your Potential leadership workshop. UYP is held in November in Chicago due to the generous sponsorship of Colgate. Five RDHs were chosen to attend from District III. Applications for UYP are available on the ADHA.org website and are due by August 1, 2013.
“Dental Hygiene is not just my profession and job; it is a part of who I am. I will always be a dental hygienist,” states Sharon. “I was a dental hygienist on maternity leave for five years when my children were born.” Sharon volunteers with the Davis Health System athletic health screenings held in July for the county’s student athletes. She has volunteered in the schools both professionally and as a parent.
Sharon is the current treasurer for WVDHA; having served as president, secretary, and legislative chair of WVDHA.. She also works with the WVDHA website and is the Facebook page administrator. She was responsible for conforming and reformatting the WVDHA bylaws in accordance with the ADHA bylaws in 2009. She has been actively involved in ADHA and WVDHA since graduating as a dental hygienist.
Sharon and her husband, Mike, are the parents of two children, Kristin and Andrew, and resides in Elkins, West Virginia, with their three cats.
Sharon is an avid reader and regularly attends classes at the local Y in Pilates, yoga, weight training and circuit training. Sharon is also an assistant instructor for the Silver Sneakers circuit training and yoga program and an instructor for Nautilus/Cybex personal training at the YMCA. Sharon is a long-time volunteer with the Mountain State Forest Festival.

Monica Horter, RDH, BS, 2015-2017 WVDHA Secretary, is a graduate of West Virginia Institute of Technology obtaining an Associate of Science degree in Dental Hygiene in 1987. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Organizational Management in 2009 from Ohio Valley University. Monica has practiced dental hygiene in both general and periodontal private practices over the span of 28 years. In 2011, she co-founded the Charleston Dental Hygiene Study Club that brings outstanding hygienists together to share and grow our profession.
Monica lives in Charleston with her husband, Joe, and their three rescue pets. In their spare time, they enjoy bicycling throughout our beautiful state.
As the newest member of the WV Executive Board, Monica is looking forward to an exciting term serving her fellow dental hygienists.
RDH, BSDH, MPH (Immediate Past President) is a graduate of West Virginia University obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993 from the School of Dentistry, Division of Dental Hygiene. She received a Masters of Public Health degree in 2012 from the WVU School of Medicine. She has worked in both private and public sectors of the dental profession over the span of nineteen years. Gina has six years of experience working in the specialty field of Pediatric Dentistry and currently serves as a Regional Oral Health Coordinator at Marshall University in conjunction with WV Department of Health and Human Services. She has held a faculty appointment within the West Virginia University School of Dentistry since 2004 and obtained a faculty appointment within the WVU School of Public Health this past year.
In 2006, Gina was awarded the West Virginia University Extension Service Award of Excellence and in 2009 she was selected as one of West Virginia’s Generation Next 40 Under 40. Over the past four years she has assisted in securing over a half million dollars in grant funding to promote oral health throughout West Virginia. In addition, she is a graduate of the 2010 class of the Leadership West Virginia program.
Gina is the Imediate Past President elect of the West Virginia Dental Hygienists' Association, immediate past president of the West Virginia Public Health Association Dental Section, and a member of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry.
In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, jewelry making, and traveling with her husband Craig. She and Craig enjoy spending time with their daughter.

Mary Ann Yandrich, RDH, BSDH (Tri-State DHA Trustee), received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene from West Liberty State College. She has worked in private practice in Ohio and West Virginia throughout her professional career. At present, she is employed as an Academic Laboratory Instructing Assistant in the Sarah Whitaker Glass School of Dental Hygiene at West Liberty University (formerly, West Liberty State College).
Mary Ann serves as President of the Tri-State Dental Hygienists Association in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia.

Dawn Ann Dean, RDH, MSDH, ADHA District III Trustee, Dawn Ann Dean, RDH, MSDH, has served the WVDHA as an Executive Board Member since 2006. As the 1984 SADHA president of the West Liberty University (formerly West Liberty State College) graduating dental hygiene class, and the 1984 recipient of the SADHA and GOLDEN (Golden Scaler) Awards, Dawn has been acknowledged for her high standard of service to the profession of dental hygiene.
In addition to an AS Degree in Dental Hygiene (’84), Dawn completed a BA Degree in Psychology (WVU’86) and a MS Degree in Dental Hygiene Research & Administration (WVU’92). Dawn was one of the first two candidates & graduates of the MSDH Program at the WVU School of Dentistry in 1992, and successfully completed & defended her MSDH Clinical Research, "Aerosol Contamination During Salivary Evacuation." As a clinical instructor at WLU Dept. of DH from 2004-2008, Dawn was active in the TSDHA component leadership. Dawn served the WVDHA as president-elect (’06-’07), president (’07-’09), immediate past-president (’09-present), membership chair (’07-’09), delegation chair (’09-present) & ADHA IOH Liaison (’09-present). Mary Beth is the Oral Health Coordinator for the Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department (MOVHD). The position, funded by the Sisters of St. Joseph Charitable fund is in its fifth year of existence. The MOVHD is one of three health departments in West Virginia that has a dental program and employs a dental hygienist. The MOVHD is the only regional health department in WV serving six counties. The MOVHD Oral Health Program provides outreach and education and is currently piloting screening and referral and portable preventive treatment clinics in the Wood County Schools. Mary Beth has been coordinating efforts to aid clinic participants in finding a dental home. Another MOVHD project for adult dental treatment was the Mission of Mercy (MOM) free dental clinic held at WVU-Parkersburg in the summer of 2009.
Smiles for Life adult screening and referral program with the Blennerhassett Dental Society opened in September 2011. Mary Beth is also the Oral Health Educator for Wood County with the WVDHHR Children’s Oral Health Program (since 2004). Before entering the field of public health full-time, Mary Beth acquired thirty years of clinical experience in general dentistry and periodontics. Among the many continuing education classes in her career, she has attended the JP Consultants Institute Dental Hygiene Course at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies.
Mary Beth has provided presentations locally, in West Virginia and most recently at the National Oral Health Conferences in St. Louis and Pittsburgh. A poster presentation for the Smiles for Life adult program was presented at the National Association of Local Boards of Health September, 2011.
Mary Beth is a member of ADHA, WVDHA, American Association of Public Health Dentistry, WV Public Health Association–Dental Section secretary, Blennerhassett Dental Society-Education Committee, Appalachian Council Head Start Health Advisory Committee and WV Partners for Oral Health. She is a graduate of the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce Leadership Series and active with Wood County Rotary. Mary Beth is the 2011 recipient of Altrusa International of Parkersburg Woman of Excellence Award. Mary Beth has established the Mid-Ohio Valley Oral Health Fund through the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation.
Mary Beth has been a Parkersburg, WV resident for 32 years along with her husband Matt. They have a daughter, Jennifer who is a pharmacist for CVS. Jennifer and her husband Sean reside in Beavercreek, OH. They are new parents to a son, John Leo born 2/20/11.
